People often ask me where I find the books that I read with my kids, and the best answer is “here, there, and everywhere,” but I do have a few special places where I tend to search first or most often. I’ve shared some of my favorite websites in past posts, and today I’m highlighting Biblioguides. Along with their own robust index, they feature curated lists of book recommendations from various Partner Guides, and I’m happy to say that Heritage Mom is one of them! Check it out
“We’re collaborating with some of our favorite people and organizations, who also value good books, reading, and education, to provide you with easy, searchable, and organizable access to their lists of recommended books.”

So what makes Biblioguides so great beyond the lists of curated books? It’s definitely the powerful search index! Biblioguides members can search for books by author, illustrator, series, genre, location, time period, and much more. The ability to quickly find targeted book recommendations is what sets them apart, in my opinion.
“To those who believe what you read is just as important as reading itself, Biblioguides gives you the resources and tools to discover the right book for the right person at the right moment.”

They also have a library of brief videos to help introduce you to Biblioguides and show you many of the ways that the site can help you discover and read the best books for your family.
Members can pay monthly or get a deeply discounted annual membership (nearly 50% off!), and they offer a FREE 7-day trial so you can dig around and check things out for yourself before committing. You can’t beat free, and if you’re bookish (or just tired of spending so much time looking for your kids’ books), I know that you’ll love it as much as I do.
Have you read my new book? A PLACE TO BELONG is a guide for families of ALL backgrounds to celebrate diversity and kinship in the home and beyond (and there are several chapters on finding good books!) You can find me hanging out on Instagram @heritagemomblog. I hope to see you there!
