Video: Our Worldschooling Home in La Paz, Bolivia

by | Dec 29, 2017 | Homemaking, Podcasts & Videos, Travel

A good friend of mine suggested that I give a little sneak peek into the Bolivian house we’re residing in during our time in La Paz, and I thought it was a great idea {Thanks, Cheryl!}. My cousin is living and working in Bolivia, and she graciously opened her home to us as a comfortable base for our Worldschooling adventure.

The house is a 2-story beauty with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in a very safe gated community in the foothills of the Los Pinos area of the city. With a fully walled yard – front and back – as is typical in the area, the children have absolute freedom to come in and out at will any time of the day or night. The gardener maintains the grounds so they’re able to find beautiful roses, bright berries, and aromatic rosemary in between their time on the hammock and playing hide ‘n’ seek in the out buildings.

The house has been stocked with modern conveniences – major kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, water distiller, remote controlled heat/air units [central heat/air not available here] – designed to make American expats comfortable. This prevents us from experiencing the most realistic Bolivian homelife, but we’re getting a full-on taste in so many other areas that I’m thankful for this little refuge.

We’re enjoying our time here and will always remember this house as the first of what we hope will be many temporary international residences. Want to see it for yourself? Check out our video tour:
